Global Forum Rules
In order to make everyone's experience as enjoyable as possible, here are the standard rules. These shouldn't be necessary as people should all just get along. But this is the internet, so you and I both know that we need reminding from time to time. So without further ado, here be rules:
General
Signatures
As of now, there are not any strict rules on user signatures. They are not currently a problem, and nobody wants to count the number of pixels in a signature to see if it fits strict guidelines *cough* Pokécommunity *cough*. But here are the guidlines for signatures:
Avatars
The same rules for Sig Pic appropriateness apply to Avatars as well.
Account Suspension
These rules are subject to change and amendment as the need may arise.
General
- Posts must be in English. - For the sake of clarity and understanding (and ease of moderation by the staff) posts must be in English.
- If you need to discuss in another language, please do so through Private Message.
- Violations will result in a warning. - No claiming someone else's work as your own - Why would you?
- Violation will result in a warning, and post deletion.
- Repeated violation will result in temporary account suspension. - No flaming other users - This includes calling people "useless" or name-calling and the like, and other childlike behaviour. It is somewhat up to moderator discretion.
- Violation will result in a warning, and post deletion.
- Repeated violation will result in an account suspension (length is at the discretion of the moderator, based on severity of the infractions). - Refrain from excessive profanity - I know this is the internet, but try to be respectful of other users. Hell, I know we all say things on occasion, but don't go to town on it.
- Violation will result in a mild warning, and editing or deletion of post text. - No malicious posts - This includes intentionally posting links to viruses, adware, spyware, attack sites, phishing scams, or anything else intended to cause harm to users' computers.
- Violation will result in account deletion and a ban. - No SPAM - Please do not post nonsense things that make you sound like a bot. Spambots are deleted if they post, and you don't want to be mistaken for one.
Signatures
As of now, there are not any strict rules on user signatures. They are not currently a problem, and nobody wants to count the number of pixels in a signature to see if it fits strict guidelines *cough* Pokécommunity *cough*. But here are the guidlines for signatures:
- Signatures may contain images, links, link-images, and plain text. - Please do not embed flash, youtube videos, music, and similar things in your signatures.
- Images must be suitable for all ages. - No nudity, excessive violence, etc. I like girls as much as the next guy, but we don't need naked boobs all over the place. It's against the hosts policies as well, and it looks trashy.
- Inappropriate sig pics will be removed.
- Repeated violations may result in a temporary suspension. - Advertising in signatures is allowed. - Advertise your hacks, advertise your forum, advertise your Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr etc. That's fine with me.
- Signatures should not be too disruptive - Use good judgement. You know what a signature should be. Nothing that would give you a seizure, no 1080p sig pics, nothing obnoxious.
- Offending signatures will be hidden inside "Spoiler" tags with a message on how to fix them.
Avatars
The same rules for Sig Pic appropriateness apply to Avatars as well.
Account Suspension
- Any account that receives a suspension/ban will be notified as to the reason and length of the ban
- If you believe your account was suspended in error, contact an administrator to appeal the ban. We will work with you to resolve the issue.
- Accounts will only be suspended for violation of the rules. - Bans are not treated as a joke, and any staff member found to be abusing his or her authority will be dealt with.
These rules are subject to change and amendment as the need may arise.
